Family and Fun are Our Business
Ken Ries founded KD Amusement in 1959 in Ames, Iowa. However, his experience in the industry began at an early age, working in his family's business, Ries Amusement. At KD Amusement (also known as KD Game Room Supply), we are proud of our heritage and are still a small family-owned business -- now owned by Ken's eldest son, Ron Ries.
Today, KD offers one of the widest selections of quality recreation room products in Iowa. This includes pool tables, table tennis, jukeboxes, pinball machines, air hockey, card tables, bars, barstools, counter stools, arcade video games, and anything else to make your family room or recreational room more fun.
In addition to residential sales, we also offer commercial amusement products and provide equipment to local restaurants and bars. KD services and repairs equipment as well, including vintage pieces that collectors bring to us to recondition and restore.
We are so passionate about providing game room equipment to the masses that we also rent out game room equipment for events, including corporate events, school events, and private parties. Our motto is, "We bring the fun!" And we are proud to be in a business that brings joy and fun to our customers and their families.

Amusement Connoisseurs With a Strong Sense of History
We embrace the rich history of this industry. From the ban on pinball that began in the early 1940s, the teenagers crowding around jukeboxes in the 1950s to the golden age of video arcades in the 1980s, we understand the role that our products have played in people's lives over the generations. And we like to think that by continuing this business over the decades, we have contributed to the enthusiasm for these products and have even played a role in the resurgence that is happening today.
And we know our stuff! KD Amusement Owner Ron Ries has been a featured expert on American Pickers where he gave Mike and Frank information about a vintage jukebox that they had picked up on the road.
